dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this thesis is to delineate the subsurface structural geometry of the Wilburton Gas Field area, using well log data and 3D seismic data. 7 cross sections were constructed in the study area. Raster images of well logs were imported into PETRA software to assist in the mapping process. The presence of the Wilburton triangle zone is confirmed. The duplex structure in the footwall of Choctaw contains hinterland dipping break-forward thrusts which form horses in the duplex. These thrusts dip ~25o southward. The horses are apparently cut by foreland dipping backthrusts. Shortening calculation for the backthrusts within the duplex is ~10%. It is ~21% for the duplex structure and ~58% for the study area. Middle Atokan units were displaced by a splay from the Choctaw fault named the Middle Atokan Thrust (M.A.T.).
