Subsurface Study of the Hunton Group in the Cheyenne Valley Field, Major County, Oklahoma
Abstract
The Hunton Group of the Cheyenne Valley Field, Major County Oklahoma is the major focus of the study. Hunton production is controlled by a variety of factors; successful wells are not drilled on structure alone. A productive reservoir rock is a bioturbated dolomittzed limestone with secondary porosity created by dissolution. The study concentrates on using subsurface data such as well control, well samples and core data. The research begins in areas of the most dense control to help develop similarities and a depositional model to use in less concentrated areas.
