dc.description.abstract | In the search for more fire-resistant clothing materials, a study of fabric ignition is essential. Prior work has commonly used the ignition of fabrics as a measure of fire safety. In this work, the smoke initiation point as a correlating basis for fabric destruction has been studied. In order to develop correlations between smoke initiation time and the irradiance, data were collected using different fabrics. The experimental equipment, the experimental procedure, and the results obtained from the correlation of the data are discussed in this thesis. | |
