dc.description.abstractA generalized multicomponent ion exchange reaction equilibrium model is developed in this work. The equilibrium model calculates the interfacial concentrations of ions on an ion exchange resin and operates independently of the fOffil of the resin. The model is shown to be numerically stable. A survey of non-ideal generalized multicomponent equilibrium models available in the literature is also included. Recommendations about implementing non-ideal reaction equilibria in an ion exchange column model are presented.
