dc.description.abstract | Almost thirty years after the fall of South Vietnam, Vietnamese exiles living in America continue to struggle with their past, especially former political prisoners of the reeducation camps and their families. This dissertation narrates the contemporary struggles of four former prisoners and one prisoner's family, which includes his wife, daughter, and son. The narratives include interpretations, observations, and comments from the principle investigator who is also a South Vietnamese exile. This dissertation provides an updated 21st Century account of the scars that survivors of the war carry. | en_US |
