dc.description.abstractpopularity of this medium is rising. Whereas a previous document found eighty three
dc.description.abstractcompositions for trumpet and organ that had been written and published between 1900
dc.description.abstractand 1982, this author has found ninety compositions written for this ensemble between
dc.description.abstract1998 and 2008. There are many annotated bibliographies of trumpet literature, but there
dc.description.abstractis currently no guide to the newest literature for trumpet and organ to aid performers in
dc.description.abstractthe selection of these pieces. Therefore, this document provides an overview of the
dc.description.abstractcharacter and difficulty of original works published for trumpet and organ between 1998
dc.description.abstractand 2008.
dc.description.abstractEach review in this document includes the following data: performance
dc.description.abstractduration, trumpet required, difficulty of the trumpet part, musical form, and the work's
dc.description.abstractpossible applicability to recital or ceremonial settings. A prose overview is also
dc.description.abstractincluded to give the reader a better idea of the style and sound of each work. This
dc.description.abstractsurvey of the current literature for trumpet and organ is intended to help students,
dc.description.abstractteachers, and performers discover new music to suit their interests and abilities, and to
dc.description.abstractencourage more performances of this quickly-growing genre.
