Seventh grader Maddie enters her hall closet to pray and finds herself standing in a field in heaven. There she discovers that she can save her school from the Anti-Nagah, the light eater. To do so Maddie must pass three tests so that she and her friends may travel to the Spirit Realm, where the Anti-Nagah is.
