Abstract

The purpose of this dissertation is to demonstrate that Peirce's Theory of Individuality, in its later form, is consistent, plausible, and applicable to all possible phenomena. This is done by carefully analyzing Peirce's categories and drawing metaphysical implications from them. The theory of individuality pulled from the categories is then subjected to Jorge Gracia's method for testing the adequacy of theories of individuality.
