Abstract excerpt: This play in two acts focuses on Ruth, a woman who cares for her elderly mother suffering from dementia. After meeting Wes, a hospice nurse, Ruth rekindles her dreams of becoming a writer and going to college. However, after an altercation with her mother, Ruth sets aside her dreams and resigns herself to living life as a solitary caregiver.
