dc.description.abstractBased on extensive primary research conducted at the University of Texas, as well as a plethora of secondary source material, this thesis explores Clemente Idar's career with the American Federation of Labor (AFL) and his tireless work on behalf of Mexican nationals and Mexican-Americans in the borderlands of Texas and Northern Mexico during the early twentieth century.
