| dc.description | In Part A of this pre-recorded lecture, and overview of artificially generated images is provided, including a technical overview and the most pressing concerns regarding its use and consumption, such as the issue of a biased dataset, environmental and legal concerns, and issues of the production and spreading of misinformation and disinformation. With the later issue in mind, we suggest using art-historical methods as a tool to improve visual literacy skills and detect falsehoods and biases within AI images. The second part of this pre-recorded lecture, Part B, encourages audiences to practice using formal analysis and contextual/historical analysis to both detect artificially generated images and identify misinformation within them. | |
