The purpose of this study was to determine if fitness level correlates with success in intercollegiate equestrian sports. Participants were 56 members of the 2005 Oklahoma State University Equestrian Team. Participants underwent a variety of fitness tests including blood pressure, 3 minute step, sit-and-reach test, hand grip test, and a curl up test. Participants' success was tracked via the points they earned at competitions. No correlation was found between success and any of the fitness variables. Therefore, Ho: There will be no relationship between fitness level and success in intercollegiate equestrian athletes was accepted.
