The scope of this study was Twitter #FoodD tweets occurring in a specific time around The Food Dialogues live webcast event on September 22, 2011. A collection of tweets were archived and examined for social presence dimensions and indicators through content analysis. The study used the Rourke et al. (2001) assessment model of social presence to determine social presence. The study revealed that social presence was an important part of the #FoodD tweets and most of the tweets were interactive. The study also concluded social presence dimension categories are adequate, but social presence dimension indicators should be refined for future social media studies.
