dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a brief 2-session mindfulness-based intervention on number of episodes of overeating in the college student population. Students were randomized into the intervention group or a waitlisted control group. Episodes of overeating during the previous week were assessed at pre-test, post-test, and 30-day follow-up. Qualitative questions were asked of the intervention group at 30-day follow-up. Results of a Repeated Measures ANOVA showed significant decrease in overeating at 30-day follow-up (p=0.29), but no significant difference between the groups (p=.961). A total of seventeen themes were found for the results of the three qualitative questions. | en_US |
