Survival of the fittest
Abstract
Throughout the Spring 2016 semester, I conducted 64 hours of authentic science research under the mentorship of Dr. Barney Luttbeg and Dr. Julie Angle. Using the research experience and content knowledge I gained through the help of Dr. Luttbeg combined with the pedagogy knowledge I gained through my classwork under Dr. Angle, I constructed an inquiry-based lesson plan. This lesson plan is made to give students a more hands-on approach to learning about adaptation than a traditional lecture. The lesson plan is based on the Next Generation Science Standards, which are supported by solid foundations that come from educational research.
