Managing construction projects is a complex operation. Multiple activities are executed at the same time, and numerous variables impact building development. Therefore, construction professionals need access to worksite information to understand the current state of the project; this will allow them to make better analyses and decisions that may improve project performance. Thus, the more information that decision-makers can obtain from the job site, the better they will be able to identify problems and find solutions. Current software applications allow data visualization for project control and monitoring. However, multiple elements are not supported by these systems, which makes them a poor communication mechanism. Data is not collected nor analyzed efficiently, and a thorough study of current project conditions cannot be performed, which may lead to poor results. Consequently, a system capable of classifying, organizing, and storing data was implemented to test the usability of data visualization systems in the interpretation of ongoing project progress based on activity data. The test demonstrated that construction data visualization provided valuable information to construction professionals and that the application of this system enabled the exploration of various data relationships significant for project management.en_US
