This document consists of a complete musical score of a one-act chamber opera based on an original libretto entitled An Arabian Night. The light story is loosely derived from a supplementary tale to 1001 Arabian Nights. The performance length of this tonal opera is sixty minutes and is comprised of a prologue and six short scenes. The opera employs a sixteen-player chamber orchestra and over a dozen main roles for various voice types, thus making it suitable for a college opera or apprentice artist program. The score is accompanied by a supporting document containing a synopsis of the libretto and general analytical commentary of the score, including information on formal structure, important motives, tonal organization, and dramatic issues.en_US
