Speedfest XI Black Team: Critical design review
Abstract
This presentation is the critical design review for the Oklahoma State University Black Team's submission to Speedfest XI. In the presentation, the team discusses the design decisions made past the concept phase to bring the design to a standard that could begin production. This discussion includes the propulsion system selection, the final wing, tail, and control surface sizing, and the structural design and production plan. It also includes a discussion of how the computer-assisted design team prepared for construction by designing the dimensions and fit of the aircraft. The team discusses the process of analysis for each of these aspects of the design as well as the logical conclusion that each of these sections led the sub-teams to. There is also a brief discussion of the marketing strategy. Each of these sections were meant to convince the faculty and advisors present that Black Team had thoroughly considered all aspects of the design and were ready to begin production.
