dc.description.abstract | In this comprehensive studio project, the goal of the project was to create a fully integrated building that pulls past knowledge of design and fuses it with the technical systems of an efficient building. In this project education facilities were studied to create a STEAM Education Center located in Edmond, Oklahoma. Through each phase of the project, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation, the project evolved as a result of a solution to obtain a more efficient and environmentally friendly building envelope. Sustainability through systems integration and the material choice was highlighted throughout the project. Calculations were computed to portray the realism of the building. Upon completion of this project, it became apparent that architecture can be both systematically integrative and sustainable while still evoking creativity. | |
