Colin Is Changing His Name is a collection of poetry that explores issues of identity and self-acceptance through the journey of coming out as gay in the rural south. Working through multiple characters named "Colin" the collection works to illuminate the complicated process of self-discovery and definition LGBTQ people experience. Localized to the rural south, the work of the book aims to further LGBTQ representation in rural spaces and complicate the idea that queer people can only find acceptance, safety, and happiness in major cities.
