This work seeks to interpret resource curse on the African Continent by analyzing three separate cases: Sierra Leone, The Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Nigeria. In respect to each case's civil war, these will primarily by analyzed in terms of how their dominant natural resources play a role in these conflicts. This thesis also seeks to gain a better understanding of what policies might be able to put into place to try and limit future outbreaks of resource driven conflicts.
