dc.description.abstractScope and Method of Study: This report is confined to the industrially sponsored scholarships that are available to high school graduates. Emphasis is mainly on those scholarships which are awarded on the bases of the student's scholastic standing and need without limitations as to course of study to be followed or employment of parents. Contained in this report is information regarding the financial value, the qualifications of applicants and procedures to follow in making application for a few outstanding scholarships as well as references as to where additional information may be obtained in regard to other scholarship programs available to high school graduates throughout the United States. The majority of the information used in this report was obtained directly from the companies and organizations contacted.
dc.description.abstractFindings and Conclusions: The number of industrially sponsored scholarships available to high school graduates is increasingly annually. This has been brought about mainly through the realization by head of industries that college trained personnel is essential for the further growth and development of their particular enterprise. Many companies are turning the selection of scholarship recipients over to organizations which specialize in the conducting of testing programs for the selection of scholarship recipients. The most direct method of obtaining information as to what scholarship programs are available to high school graduates may be obtained by writing to the different industries located primarily in the area in which the high school is located.
