Currently, an undergraduate laboratory is being constructed at OSU. The Endeavor Lab will support an experimental setup using a pipe stand for a fluid mechanics lab. This pipe stand was designed and constructed to support a variety of fluid flow experiments including: laminar and turbulent flow profiles, friction losses in different sizes and roughness of pipe, velocity profiles in pipes, loss coefficients for orifice and venturi meters, and friction losses for different types of valves. This setup will be an essential tool for professors to demonstrate these principles to undergraduates so that they can have a visual representation of fluid properties.
