Abstract
Edited text of an interview with Else Granheim, Director General, Statens Bibliotektilsyn (Norwegian Directorate for Public and School Libraries), Oslo, and former President of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA). The role of president of IFLA is discussed from the point of view of a woman, the only one who has held the office. Also, the structure and problems of IFLA are discussed.
