Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect in High-risk Populations: Development of the Home-help Program
Abstract
The HOME-HELP PROGRAM, a program of secondary prevention which seeks to prevent child abuse and neglect in high-risk populations, was designed and pretested by the author in Stillwater, Oklahoma, January, 1985, through February, 1986. I am proud to report that the HOME-HELP PROGRAM has been adopted by The Parents Assistance Center of Stillwater, although there have been some ill-advised changes in the program philosophy and model of service delivery.
