dc.description.abstractThe results from the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) indicate that the couplings of the Higgs boson to other particles are consistent with the Standard Model. The coupling of the Higgs boson to itself will be the final and ultimate test as to whether this particle is the standard Higgs boson. Both the trilinear Higgs coupling as well as the quartic coupling is needed in order to verify the Higgs potential accurately. Our goal is to determine how well the trilinear Higgs coupling can be determined theoretically. We study the Higgs pair production from gluon fusion at the LHC in the Standard Model and Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. We consider the collider energy of the LHC Run 2 with $\sqrt{s}=13\;$TeV and $14\;$TeV to study the production rate of Higgs boson pairs and physics background for final states; $hh\rightarrow b\overline{b} b \overline{b}$ and $hh\rightarrow b\overline{b}\tau^+\tau^-$ with realistic acceptance cuts.en_US
