Hydrogeochemical prospecting methods, gamma ray logs and car-borne scintillometer surveys, are used in this study to delineate zohes of radioactive mineralization in south-central Oklahoma. Ore controls responsible for these radioactive deposits are discussed and a hypothesis, dealing with the formation of ore deposits found in the study area, is proposed. Petrographic analyses of potential host rocks are used to illustrate the relationship between radioactive occurrences and host rock lithologies. Other uranium occurrences throughout the state also are described and a discussion of potential sources of radioactive minerals in Oklahoma is presented.
