Doppler-tuned hyperfine spectroscopy of the lithium ion
Abstract
We have used the Doppler-tuned ion-beam, laser-spectroscopy method to measure the hyperfine intervals in the 2^3 S and 2^3 P^o states of Li+. Our resolution was 10 times that of the best previous measurement. In contrast to the earlier experimental work we find excellent agreement between our measurements and the theoretical values.
