dc.description.abstract | The objectives of this study were: (1) to ascertain the current distribution and population size of the red-cockaded woodpecker in Oklahoma and to evaluate its chances for continued survival in the state; and (2) to determine specific home range parameters and other habitat characteristics of the species in Oklahoma in order to better understand its limiting factors. Various aspects of the red-cockaded woodpecker's behavior, life history, and ecology in Oklahoma are also described and evaluated. | |
