dc.description.abstractThis investigation was designed to determine if certain physiological or environmental factors influence carbon dioxide perception in Amblyomma maculatum Koch, Amblyomma americanum (L.) and Dermacentor variabilis (Say). Actual measurement of carbon dioxide perception was accomplished through use of electrophysiological techniques. The effects of species, sex, age, humidity, temperature and ambient C02 concentration on carbon dioxide perception were determined and statistically analyzed.
