dc.description.abstractThis study is concerned with the negotiation processes involved in non-visible stigma. The primary objective of this study is to understand the methods of information control utilized by persons experiencing a potentially stigmatizing situation during social interaction. A qualitative analysis of the self-reports of individuals infected with venereal disease is used to ascertain any prevalent generic processes associated with stigma negotiation.
