Willa Cather's work has always held a fascination for me, and as I have a mid-western background, I found the use of the land in her prairie fiction particularly intriguing and meaningful. This study examines some literal and symbolic uses of the land in 0 Pioneers!, My Antonia, and "Neighbour Rosicky."
