Effect of Land Use on Nest Sites Selected by Mississippi Kites
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of surrounding land use on the selection of nesting habitat by Mississippi Kites. Study sites were selected and inspected for kite nests. Land use was quantified categorically in concentric zones and then subjected to univariate t-tests and multivariate analysis of variance to determine the difference of land use practices surrounding used and unused windbreaks.
