dc.description.abstract | This study explores the relationship between training in Hatha Yoga and performance on selected cognitive tests. The psychological processes presumed to underlie these tests include field independence and freedom from distractibility. Although past research has suggested the possibility of a relationship between certain meditative techniques and cognitive functioning, this study failed to support that evidence. Various experimental conditions are recognized as contributing to the somewhat unexpected results and the implications of these limitations to further research is discussed. | |
