An effective understanding of the needs and requirements of wood ducks is necessary to manage and coordinate research efforts. This study is designed to provide baseline information on the habitat requirements and distribution of wood ducks utilizing riverine and reservoir systems in Oklahoma. I sincerely hope the results and conclusions will spark interest into further research concerning waterfowl and the preservation of wetlands in Oklahoma. Financial support was provided by Pittman-Roberts6n Project W-128-R, the Oklahoma Cooperative Wildlife Research Unit, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Wildlife Management Institute, Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation, and Oklahoma State University.
