Investigation of the Activity of Zonal Catalyst Beds for Hydrodesulfurization and Hydrodenitrogenation of a Coal-derived Liquid
Abstract
Two different catalysts, Ketjenfine-124 (Co-Mo-alumina) and HDN- 30 (Ni-Mo-alumina) were studied for hydrotreatment of Pamco Solvent (a coal-derived liquid) separately and in a zonal bed combination. Experiments were conducted at a pressure of 1500 psig and temperatures of 615F (324C) and 815F (435C). Data were obtained for liquid volume hourly space times in the range of 0.5 to 2.5 hours. Five experimental runs were conducted with run durations up to 120 hours.
