Study of Photovoltaic Arrays Under Diverse Operating Condffions
Abstract
This thesis is the result of a study into the operating characteristics of photovoltaic arrays under diverse operating conditions. Computer simulations of PV arrays were performed using a range of insolation conditions and cell fill factors. Conclusions were then reached for several different array configurations as follows: 1. Tracking arrays were compared to fixed position arrays. 2. The performance of loads designed to maximize energy utilization efficiency were compared to the performance of loads designed to maximize power output.
