This is a study of the social criticism of T.S. Eliot. The study attempts to raise sensitivity to the difficult problems of preserving community. In a world which has seen opporessive regimes and also attempts to provide maximal libery, there is a need for intentionally defending the institutions which foster unity between persons. T.S. Eliot's insight concerning the requirements of a health culture emphasizes the happiness of individuals without ignoring the common good.
