dc.description.abstractAn isothermal bubble-point apparatus was designed, tested, and operated in this work to measure the high pressure solubilities of carbon dioxide in the aromatic solvents benzene, naphthalene, phenanthrene, and pyrene. Measurements were made over a temperature range of 40 to 160�C and a pressure range of 100 to approximately 1550 psi a. Empirical binary interaction parameters for both the Soave-RedlichKwong and Peng-Robinson equations as well as Henry 1s constants and partial molar volumes of carbon dioxide in the aromatic solvents have been evaluated from resulting experimental data.
