Since the publication of Word & Object in 1960, Quine's indeterminacy thesis has been a subject of great debate. This debate has generated many confusions and misinterpretations of what Quine was actually arguing. In this work, I attempt to provide an interpretation of the indeterminacy thesis based primarily on a close reading of the first two chapters of Word & Object. Then, I show how this interpretation can be used to dissolve some common confusions and objections to Quine's thesis.
