Effects of Over-the-counter Drugs on Chromium Absorption in Rats
Abstract
Chromium is an essential trace element for animals and humans. Evaluation of chromium status in humans is difficult because circulating chromium may not be in equilibrium with tissue stores. Chromium measurement requires careful sample handling and sophisticated instrumentation. Due to those limitations, relatively few data are available on chromium intake, absorption and excretion in humans. Data on drug-chromium interactions are not available.
