| dc.description.abstract | A study was done to investigate the effect censorship has on the quality of high school plays. A questionnaire was sent to the theater or speech department at colleges and universities in seven states. The questionnaire was designed to elicit feedback from those person charged with sponsoring high school play contests. Ten Pulitzer prize winning plays were summarized and critiqued by the researcher according to the standards imposed by the colleges and universities. The data collected during the course of the study was analyzed to provide information regarding the extent college and university sponsored play contests censor high school plays. Surveys revealed that few colleges and universities actually imposed censorship of high school plays at their contests. | |
