The efficiency of electromagnetic (EM) coupling computations depends on the methods employed. To solve coupling problems in a complex environment requires solving an EM problem for varying scenarios which is difficult to realize individually. In this work, the effect of change of certain parameters on the current coupling to a wire in a box is observed, which leads to the need to develop statistical methods. An effort is made to develop and verify efficient methods of representing a stochastic field environment using efficient sampling methods. FEKO, a commercial software package is used for simulating field radiations and the current coupled to a wire in a rectangular box with an aperture. MATLAB codes are used to post-process the FEKO output files. A method to implement reciprocity is verified and used in order to reduce the number of computations required to calculate the coupling to a wire in a box for random field encounters. The statistics for the current coupled to the wire is evaluated and compared with theories. A method to implement reciprocity is verified and used in order to reduce the number of computations required. Efficient methods of representing the stochastic field environment are verified and less computational times are achieved. Good agreement with theories is obtained for current statistics obtained by collecting current data using the efficient methods.
