California dreaming: A look into California's decision to roll back their nuclear energy programs
Abstract
Through researching the California case study, the state has decided to close down Diablo Canyon, their last remaining nuclear power plant, I conducted a cost/benefit analysis and found that the potential costs of California's decision outweigh the potential benefits. California has set ambitious carbon emissions reduction goals and has expressed its wish to embrace green, sustainable energy for the future, but shutting down Diablo Canyon will probably hinder these goals.
