In these societies, traditional norms often collide with modernizing forces, creating unique challenges and opportunities for gender equity and sexual rights. We delve into the complexities of how women and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, (LGBTQ+) communities navigate socio-economic landscapes marked by rapid change, structural inequalities, and persistent patriarchal attitudes. Through an examination of recent literature and case studies, this paper highlights the innovative ways in which these communities seek recognition, resist oppression, and demonstrate resilience amidst evolving economic contexts. We make use of questionnaire and survey to get data. Recommendations are the need for global public policy, legislation for LGBTQ+ in Africa and stop stigmatisation again this group of people. All rights reserved by the author, who has granted UCO Chambers Library the non-exclusive right to share this material in its online repositories.
